Drive test preparation in Geelong with an ex VicRoads Licence Testing Officer
I'm Ryan. I've conducted more than 2000 drive tests for VicRoads, and supervised 2000 more as a Driving Instructor, so I know exactly what the tester is looking for on the day. I'll help you walk in calm and ready, and I'll be with you right up to the test.
Drive test package
Drive Test + 1 hour lesson: $250. This includes the use of my 2025 Hyundai i30 Sedan.
Please note: this price does not include VicRoads' booking fees. You pay VicRoads separately when you book your test. The VicRoads Drive Test booking fee is approximately $80.
Why learners choose me
I'm a former VicRoads licence testing officer and I've conducted more than 2000 tests as a VicRoads Licence Testing Officer, and I have supervised 2000 more as a Driving Instructor. You also receive calm, patient instruction, especially if test day makes you nervous. You sit the test in a car you've practiced in, with my supervision on the day.
Are you ready for your drive test? Before you book, make sure you have passed the Hazard Perception Test (you need this before the drive test), held your learner permit for the required time, logged your supervised driving hours if you're under 21 (120 hours including 20 hours of night driving), and booked your test appointment with VicRoads. Rules can change, so check the VicRoads website for the latest.
What happens on the drive test? There's a pre-drive check first, then on-road driving in two stages. You get your result straight after. I'll talk you through what to expect in your pre-test lesson so nothing on the day is a surprise. Check out my social media for some videos that might help!
Your pre-test lesson. The pre-test lesson is designed to calmly and methodically go over what you've already learned, so you're focused but as relaxed as possible. It's particularly helpful if you're a nervous driver.
What to bring on the day. Your learner permit card or digital licence. Proof of your supervised driving hours (myLearners app or logbook), if you're under 21. Arrive 15 minutes before your appointment. If you're late, VicRoads may ask you to rebook and pay a new appointment fee. VicRoads doesn't supply a car for the test.
Where I pick you up. Pick up and drop off in most Geelong suburbs. Ask me if you're not sure I cover your area. We can also arrange to start and finish at VicRoads
Drive test questions
What do I need to bring? Your learner permit or digital licence, and proof of your supervised hours if you're under 21.
Can I use your car for the test? Yes. The includes the use of my 2025 Hyundai i30. It's an automatic.
Do you teach manual? No. I only offer automatic lessons, and an automatic test means your licence will be for automatic cars only.
Do the package prices include VicRoads fees? No. You pay VicRoads' test and appointment fees separately when you book.
What if I need to change or cancel my test? VicRoads asks for at least 24 hours' notice to avoid paying the test fee again. Check their site for the latest.
Do I have to pass the Hazard Perception Test first? Yes, before the drive test.
I get really nervous. Can you help? Yes. That's what the pre-test lesson is for. My previous experience working for VicRoads will also help you. There won't be any surprises on the day.
How many lessons will I need before the test? It depends on you. I'll give you an honest view after your first lesson.
Which suburbs do you pick up from? Most Geelong suburbs.
What if I don't pass? We try again. Nobody wants to fail, but sometimes things don't go to plan. I won't recommend doing your driving test unless I am confident in your driving.
